Son of Beast
This is one "unique" wooden coaster.

Back in 1979, a wooden roller coaster named the Beast opened at Paramount's Kings Island in Ohio. It was the longest wooden coaster in the world, being an 7,400-foot-long monster with two lift hills and wicked helixes. The ride was an immediate favorite by many, and the legend must be carried on. As with most rides, before Son of Beast was announced, the internet flooded with rumors. They were about PKI making a sequel to a ride there, called Son of Beast (don't think about the initials), and most were certain it would also be another record setter. 20 years after the original, Son of Beast has finally started to rise.

Son of Beast will be the world's tallest wooden roller coaster, with it's lift peaking at an incredible 218 feet. The first drop of 214 feet where the train will Son of Beast layoutreach the unbelievable speed for a wooden coaster- 78 m.p.h. Covering 12 acres, and using 1.65 million board feet of Southern Yellow Pine, Son of Beast will truly live up to the original, and then some. However, the main feature of Son of Beast isn't sheer height (or is it?), nor can it be the 2, 540° helixes turning in different directions, but something that hasn't been done before. This will be the only wooden coaster in the world with a vertical loop. Yes, you read right. Towards the middle of SOB, there will be a 103-foot wooden loop. Sound scary? Don't worry, the actual structure for the loop is steel, but just the sheer thought of a loop on a wooden coaster is breathtaking. The loop will pull 4.46 G's for the terrified riders. Son of Beast will certainly be a coaster to remember.
